On Saturday we came to know that the trainer is going to change. It doesn't matter "that" much, but I must say, the present one was way ahead in his league. I am yet to see someone who inspite of having so much command on the subject can put it across in such a lucid and deceptively simple way.
Anyway, Sunday was the only day this week to take rest. And rest I took. Left the bed at around 3:30 PM. Went to Forum Mall. It has been advised that all crowded public places, especially the malls are to be avoided in the weekends in the wake of the recent serial bomb blasts. But if malls are like source of glitter and light, Bangaloreans are like the moths. They simply can't resist the lure of malls.
Went to Landmark. Thats my favourite place. Well, the most favourite place is Bose. I can listen to their Wave Radio all day long. But I can't go there and spend say an hour listening to it. Its a place which you can go once in a day, especially when you have no intentions of buying anything. So Landmark is the next best option. Live hours after hours (if you please) in absolute anonymity, browsing through some of the best books in print. In the first floor I almost fainted. Someone had bathed in perfume, and to say that the stink was overpowering would be a gross understatement. Attempts to find the source didn't meet with any success. So I somehow walked further and got myself busy again, browsing VCDs.
A friend of mine informed that Seinfield is a good TV series. Or "was" so to say. So I downloaded the first 2 seasons, and was watching them for most part of my waking hours this weekend. Its situational comedy, I read it somewhere, but not sure what it means. But I liked it. Seinfield, the character himself is good. He is actually a stand-up comedian, and is far better than the recent ones. Speaking of TV shows, I really like them. There are websites which let you download season-loads of them. I have seen the exploits of Hercule Poirot that way. Not to mention almost the complete series of Sherlock Holmes. Then there was this British sitcom called Mind Your Language. I almost loved it. Someone introduced me to Thats 70s Show. It kept me amused for hours together. Friends, I didn't download. I got DVDs for the whole set of 10 seasons. It worthy to be collected. And presently Seinfield. These are things which makes you smile and laugh. And thats the reason I like them. Oh, in the Indian side of it, relived the childhood moments watching Byomkesh Bakshi and the Flop Show. On the lighter side of 90s 2 serials used to come on Doordarshan (DD1 didn't exist then). One was The Old Fox and the other one was Derrick. Both were German characters and were hugely popular. I am still trying to locate them, the serials, on the Internet.
